It’s seasonal feasting down at East London’s South Place Hotel with a special Spring Dinner this Friday. Guy, the Head Chef at the hotel’s Chop House restaurant, has created what is a quarterly dinner series and the Spring edition will start with Cornish Crab, followed by Wye Valley asparagus, hen’s egg and Berkswell, then, according to the press release, an ‘impressive centrepiece of Berkshire Suckling Pig and baked Alaska (flambéed at the table) to finish’. We’d never thought of putting baked Alaska with pork, so it might well be worth attending to see how that goes.
