“There are few better places to celebrate World Gin Day than Michelin-starred Angler’s rooftop terrace, which has launched a picturesque summer bar in collaboration with international award-winning gin producers, Cambridge Distillery. This quintessentially British terrace brings Cambridge countryside charm to the city, offering refreshing gin cocktails amidst a haven of blooming summer foliage. Founded in 2012 by husband and wife team, William and Lucy Lowe, Cambridge Distillery started out with the couple creating a laboratory in their living room. Inspired by walks through the meadows surrounding Cambridge, the gins seek to capture the taste of the English seasons and use fresh botanicals grown in and around the distillery.
Alongside the signature Cambridge Dry Gin & Tonic served with Fever Tree Indian Tonic and fresh mint, the terrace cocktail list includes innovative serves such as Thyme & Sage Sour made with Cambridge Dry Gin, thyme, sage, lime, Green Chartreuse and egg white (£13), and the Cambridge Collins, a moreish concoction of Cambridge Dry Gin, Kamm & Sons, ginger-ale, Aperol and blackcurrant (£13.50). Angler’s Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes, has curated a bespoke menu of nostalgic English bar snacks designed to pair perfectly with the drinks, including Cuttlefish fritters with chip shop curry sauceand Crispy pork brawn with Gentleman’s relish.”
