All of your
bank holiday plans
As a Brit, there’s nothing we love more than a bank holiday weekend and at South Place Hotel we love it even more.
Looking for some inspiration of what to get up to this weekend? Look no further, we have done the work for you and put together the best things to get up to.
Without further a due, we must start with the best of all, Notting Hill Carnival. Every August bank holiday weekend since 1966, crowds gather to celebrate London’s Caribbean community, their culture and traditions. If you’re looking to experience the more chilled experience the opening ceremony will take place at 10am on Sunday and will go on until 6.30pm for a family day. If you’re looking for the real carnival experience, Monday is the day for you with the festivities kicking off at 10am.
Are you feeling competitive? This weekend, why not head down to The Monster at Alexandra Palace. Intrigued? The Monster is a 300m long 42 obstacle-deep assault course – double the size of a football pitch – so you’re in for a day of fun! Don’t rush to the finish line, as your ticket only allows you a one-time pass, but not to worry as afterwards you can make the most of the different food and drink stalls!
If this all sounds like a little too much energy for a bank holiday weekend, then why not stick around the East at South Place Hotel and head to the Chop House for the ultimate brunch bonanza. Enjoy two-courses alongside bottomless bubbles, Bellinis and Mimosas – available Saturday, Sunday and Monday for just £35 per person!
After your carnival festivities on Sunday night, why not head to Got Soul in 3Bar. Got Soul is a DJ centred evening from 6pm until midnight. Lounge around to neo-soul with a selection of board and table games – what better way to spend a Sunday?
On Monday if you’re looking for a day of relaxation then head to Hackney for the Make More Festival, a five-day celebration of creativity for all the family. You will be able to watch demos, get all hands-on during taster sessions and catch performances from comedians, puppeteers and physical theatre groups.
If all this bank holiday talk has already got you feeling the need for a comfortable bed to lie down in, then why not spend the night with us at South Place – wine and dine before dropping into a comfortable bed. Tempted? Take a look at our exclusive offers now…before it’s too late!
