London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is about 20 miles (30km) west of South Place Hotel, but with traffic congestion in Central London being what it is, the journey time can exceed one hour by taxi or limousine service.
Usually, the quickest and most reliable means of transport to and from Heathrow is to take the Heathrow Express, which runs every 15 minutes between the airport and Paddington Station. Between Paddington and South Place Hotel, you can take a black cab (about 20 minutes) or the Hammersmith & City or Circle lines on the Underground to Liverpool Street (also about 20 minutes).
You can also travel all the way by London Underground in a journey time of about one hour and 15 minutes: take the Piccadilly line from the airport as far as Holborn and then transfer on to the Central line eastbound to Liverpool Street.
From 6th November 2022, customers can travel east all the way to Liverpool Street and vice versa on the Elizabeth Line without changing at Paddington National Rail station.
LONDON GATWICK AIRPORT
London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is about 30 miles (48km) south of South Place Hotel, and the journey time by car can take an hour and a half or even longer as the route through South London is notoriously slow.
The Gatwick Express runs every 15 minutes with a journey time of half an hour into Victoria Station. From the train station, the journey time in a black cab should be around 20 minutes, which is about the same time as it will take on the Underground: take the Victoria line northbound to Oxford Circus and transfer on to the Central line eastbound to Liverpool Street.
LONDON CITY AIRPORT
London City Airport (LCY) is about 8 miles (12km) east of South Place Hotel, with a journey time in a black taxi of approximately 25 minutes during the rush hour and as little as 10-15 minutes at off-peak times.
You can also travel using public transport: take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from London City Airport to Bank station and then either walk to the hotel (10 minutes) or hop one stop northbound on the Northern line to Moorgate.
LONDON STANSTED AIRPORT
London Stansted Airport (STN) is 35 miles (57km) northeast of South Place Hotel, with a journey time by car of just over an hour.
The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes with a journey time of 47 minutes between the airport and Liverpool Street station.
LONDON LUTON AIRPORT
London Luton Airport (LTN) is approximately 35 miles (57km) northwest of South Place Hotel, with a journey time by car of just over an hour.
There is also a regular train service between Luton Airport Parkway station and St Pancras station in London, with a shuttle bus service between Parkway and the airport terminal and connections from King’s Cross St Pancras to Moorgate on the Northern line.
